Year 7 Football

20150922 160545

On Tuesday evening in perfect conditions the year 7 football team played their first fixture against Hollins. The team showed fantastic work rate and enthusiasm against a very well organized team. Norden had some great players on display but Adam Davies was the stand out pupil who had a very impressive game with some tremendous goalkeeping. I am sure the team will improve with every game and look forward to watching the lads develop.

Our Year 7 and Year 8 Rugby League team played their first ever fixture against a more experienced Rhyddings school team on Wednesday 20 May 2015. They sadly lost the closely fought game but the lads played brilliantly with some fantastic performances. Robbie Hutcheon deservedly earned the title 'Man of the Match' for his ball carries and work in defence.

We look forward to further fixtures after half term and training is every Tuesday after school for any pupils who are interested in taking part.

The Year 7 and 8 girls played in the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Football tournament at Accrington Academy. This was the first game the girls had played together. They played extremely well, growing in confidence throughout the tournament. The girls drew two games, lost one game and finished off on a high winning the last game against St Augustine’s. Sophie Shah was the goal scorer. A fantastic effort from all the girls - well done!  Also a big thank you for the support from all the parents/carers despite the pouring down rain!

Well done to the girls who played in the year 9 and 10 girl’s football tournament at Accrington Academy. This was the first football of the season for the girls. They all played well over the tournament drawing 4 games and narrowly losing 2 games. Goal scorers were Katie Daniels and Charley Butler. Fantastic defending from Natasha Smallridge and Darcie Jarvie.
