Norden High School and Sports College enjoyed a fabulous inter-house sports day on Monday 21st July. Each House competed against each other in various events ranging from the tug of war and an egg and spoon race, to the more serious athletic sprints and middle distances.
The highlight of the day was definitely the tug of war - the cheers and support for the teams echoed all around Rishton!
The effort on display was fantastic and the pupils' behaviour was outstanding. Waddington House came out as the overall winners, well done.
We were very proud to unveil our new school uniform at the Induction Evening on Thursday 3 July 2014. Jordan and Atlanta make excellent models!
U13 cricket team - with Mr Boyden and Mr Hussain
So far we have played two games, losing against a strong CRGS team and earning a draw against Mt Carmel. The team are playing some fantastic cricket and have been unfortunate not to get something more out of the games played. Nets are still taking place after school on Tuesdays and Fridays and all are welcome.
"What a play toward? I'll be an auditor"*
Norden High School Drama students have just started work on their 5th Shakespeare School's Festival performance. This year we will be performing, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Thwaite's Empire Theatre on Tuesday 14th October.
The cast have started working on exploring and understanding the text. However we will be looking for more students to support them in September. If anyone else would like to be involved, then please see Mr Massey.

This year's much anticipated Art Show took place on Thursday 12th June 2014. This will be Norden Art Departments 4th Annual Private View, exhibiting the work of our extremely talented Year 11 students. We are very impressed how hard they have worked over the last 2 years and the class of 2014 Art students should be proud of what they have accomplished.
The show was very well attended by students, parents and governors. The mayor and his aid attended and were very impressed at the standard of work on display, praise indeed from an ex-Nordener! Guests were extremely complementary about the standard and variety of the work, feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Art students in year 10 and 9 were really inspired by the work and got a glimpse of what they have to look forward to when their work is exhibited in the future.
